– Cherished 77-Year-Old Production Is America’s #1 Holiday –

Radio City Christmas Spectacular Starring The RockettesOver its storied 77-year history, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring the world-famous Radio City Rockettes, has become America’s #1 holiday show. Enjoyed by nearly 65 million people since its inception in 1933, the Christmas Spectacular has become a holiday tradition for families everywhere.

Now, this cherished production comes to WPBT2, RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR STARRING THE ROCKETTES.

Viewers of all ages will delight in this multifaceted extravaganza, which includes dynamic Rockette performances, multiplying Santas and childhood dreams-come-true in the Nutcracker, all enhanced with breathtaking special effects and gorgeous costumes. Everything is framed by the power of the holiday spirit and the heartwarming magic that only the Christmas Spectacular and the holiday season bring.

The Rockettes continue to be an American treasure, and their performance style has always been both glamorous and complex. As the stars of this legendary holiday production, the Rockettes showcase their signature precision dance style and perform some of the freshest and most challenging Rockette choreography ever conceived.

Along with Rockette favorites, including the tap tour de force “12 Days of Christmas” scene, RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR STARRING THE ROCKETTES features dynamic performance routines, including an unforgettable signature production number set in Times Square, lighting up the New York skyline with a glittering fireworks display. In “New York at Christmas,” the Rockettes board a real double-decker Gray Line tour bus for a “tour” of Manhattan; they whiz past a kinetic montage of New York landmarks, including the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

Santa’s journey then takes the audience from New York City to the North Pole, when what appears to be a humble-looking toy workshop unfolds into Santa’s gigantic and dazzling 25-foot-high warehouse of Christmas toys. This larger-than-life production set becomes the backdrop of a high-energy tap routine featuring the Rockettes as rag dolls.

Traditional fan favorites such as the “Living Nativity” scene and “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” which have been in the show since its inception in 1933, remain a vital part of the show’s core. The “Living Nativity” scene is a moving tribute to the first Christmas, and “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” continues to set the standard for precision performance as the signature Rockette number.

Originally performed as a holiday “gift” between movie screenings, the Christmas Spectacular has long since become the main event, drawing millions of people annually to stage productions across the country. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular is an enduring Christmas tradition that has dazzled and inspired for 77 years and continues to create memories that will last a lifetime.
