– Benise and his Emmy Award-Winning Nights Of Fire Cast Return With a New World Music and Dance Production –
Dubbed “The Latin Riverdance,” this show, spearheaded by flamenco guitarist Benise, combines soaring music, sumptuous production values and an epic tale that transports the audience to exotic places. The program follows the Primetime Emmy Award-winning special Benise: Nights Of Fire.
The Spanish Guitar is directed by Raj Kapoor (Josh Groban, Britney Spears, “American Idol,” “Dancing With the Stars”); choreographed by Alex Magno (Madonna, Yanni, Pussycat Dolls, Ballet Hispanico); and lighted by Bud Horowitz (Bette Midler, Natalie Cole, Yanni).
The program features guest performances by “American Idol” finalist Kimberly Locke, vocalist Giorgia Fumanti, “Dancing With the Stars” duo Nick Kosovich and Lena Bacheva and the Los Angeles Gospel Choir. The dancers in The Spanish Guitar were selected from a global pool and include traditional flamenco dancers, Broadway gypsies and dancers who’ve been featured soloists with musicians such as Madonna, Celine Dion and Ricky Martin. Couture fashion and the unparalleled beauty of the Gitanas, Benise’s female chorus line, give Spanish dance a luminous makeover. The first-rate musicians in Benise’s band include Karen Briggs (Yanni) and Walter Rodrigez (Stomp, Yanni).
The Spanish Guitar features footage of Benise in a voyage across the globe. Viewers will follow his journey through the cobblestone streets of old Havana, an Arabian desert, the romantic canals of Venice, the oldest bullring in Spain, a Paris café and a 2,000-year-old Buddhist temple in India.
