David “Dudu” Fisher, best known throughout the world for his stirring performance as Jean Valjean on Broadway in the hit show, “Les Miserables,” returns to Israel for an exciting and visually stunning concert. Taped at the historic and magnificent Beit Sha’an archaeological site in Israel, Mr. Fisher offers an inspiring mix of Broadway, Jewish & Israeli, and contemporary songs, and contextualizes the music with location shots from some of the most beautiful landscapes and sites throughout Israel.
During his long career, David “Dudu” Fisher has recorded over twenty albums. He sang the role of Moses in the Hebrew version of Steven Spielberg’s “The Prince of Egypt.” He has sung with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta and has recorded an album of show tunes with the London Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to Britain’s Royal family, he has performed for the Thai Royal family and for President and Mrs. Bill Clinton. In addition to his starring role in “Les Miserables,” Fisher has played leading roles in the production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Kol Nidre” by Lalo Schifrin and Avi Koren, “Over the Rainbow,” and many others in theaters around the world.
Having starred in the film “The Road to Glory,” hosted an Israeli TV series and appeared on innumerable radio and TV programs throughout the world, it is safe to say that Dudu Fisher has excelled in every aspect of his profession.
From January to April of 2001 Dudu Fisher was seen on Israeli stages starring in “The Rothschilds,” a musical by Jerry Bock and Sherman Yellen. He was presented the “Liberty Award” at the Lower East Side Festival, which celebrates contributions to Jewish Culture in America. In October of 2002, Dudu again thrilled his audiences with a one-man show. “Something Old, Something New,” which was written and directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, Dudu’s Broadway “Les Miserables” director.
Fisher’s latest tour is with an original show “Jerusalem,” which consists of 16 songs and stories about Jerusalem performed in five languages.
