Paul McCartneyFriday, September 7 at 9:00 p.m.
Paul McCartney - Live Kisses
Earlier this year, Paul McCartney released Kisses On The Bottom, a new album of pop standards that pre-date the rock and roll era (along with two new songs written in that style).  And while he didn’t tour to promote it, he did perform the songs at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles (where he recorded the album) on February 9. For this performance, he opted not to play instruments, and simply concentrated on his vocals at this one-time-only (so far) event. His backing band included jazz superstar Diana Krall on piano, and highlights included his drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. Meanwhile, Eagle (and brother-in-law to Beatle Ringo Starr) Joe Walsh plays acoustic guitar on “My Valentine” and “Get Yourself Another Fool.”

Andrea BocelliThursday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m.
Andrea Bocelli - Live in Central Park
“Star singer Andrea Bocelli dazzled thousands with his signature brand of pop and opera on a cold, wet night in New York City’s Central Park, which will be etched in his memory as an important career milestone.” Accompanied by the New York Philharmonic, under the direction of music director Alan Gilbert, the spectacular event was Bocelli’s special gift to New York City. The program is the New York-based offering of the multi-city PBS Arts Fall Festival, which includes four Great Performances productions. Award-winning journalist Paula Zahn is the evening’s host.
