DCI Banks is based on the bestselling novels by Peter Robinson and features carefully worked stories jam-packed with twists and turns, and intriguing and memorable characters.

The seven-week, 90-minute series stars Stephen Tompkinson as the tenacious and stubborn Chief Inspector Alan Banks. Actress Andrea Lowe is the feisty and headstrong Detective Sergeant Annie Cabbot. Together they investigate compelling contemporary crimes set in the fictional town of Eastvale in the Yorkshire countryside -- a striking and contrasting backdrop to chilling and thrilling murder stories.

The series begins with Strange Affair, then continues with adaptations of Dry Bones that Dream (Final Account) and Innocent Graves. Caroline Catz replaces Andrea Lowe for most of the series, as Andrea was on maternity leave, but the rest of the cast remains the same. Watch out for some excellent guest stars.
