WPBT2 and Miami Science Museum Stream Live Lunar Eclipse

What: WPBT2 and Miami Science Museum will host a live streaming and chat of the full lunar eclipse on the station’s website, wpbt2.org. Astronomy experts and producers of Jack Horkheimer’s Star Gazer will be available to chat and answer any questions. Prior to the streaming, WPBT2 will broadcast Star Gazer: A Lunar Eclipse, which will give viewers information about the eclipse and explain how audiences around the country can participate and share their experience. The program will also include information on plans to revamp the Star Gazer series. Viewers will learn how they can audition to become the next Star Gazer host and how they can play a role in choosing a new name for the program.

When: The broadcast of Star Gazer: A Lunar Eclipse will be on Monday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m. on WPBT2. The live streaming and chat of the lunar eclipse will be after midnight the same evening on Tuesday morning, December 21 at 1:30 a.m. on www.wpbt2.org/stargazer/.

Why: WPBT2 and Miami Science Museum will hold a live streaming and chat of the full lunar eclipse in an effort to provide all viewers the opportunity to experience this occurrence despite their location. The chat feature will also give viewers a rare opportunity to speak with astronomy experts and ask any questions they may have about the eclipse.

Miami Science Museum is located at 3280 South Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33129. The Museum is open every day from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Admission is free for MiaSci members and children under 3; students (with valid ID), seniors (62+) and children 3 – 12, $10.95; adults are $14.95. Parking is free.
