MIAMI, FL — WPBT South Florida PBS – WPBT2 South Florida PBS paid tribute to the late Paul Kangas at its Miami studios on April 21st. The evening’s program was hosted by Linda O’Bryon, founding executive editor of Nightly Business Report. Friends, family members and former and current Nightly Business Report and WPBT2 South Florida PBS staff attended the event honoring Paul Kangas, who many referred to as the “Walter Cronkite” of business news. The tribute consisted of anecdotes, testimonials, video clips of Paul Kangas and video messages from friends and fans.
“Paul Kangas was a remarkable financial news anchor, commentator and leader. I was proud to stand with friends and colleagues to honor his memory during a tribute at South Florida PBS on April 21. Our thanks to everyone at WPBT for creating this very special evening,” Linda O’Bryon.
“It is my privilege to have known Paul Kangas and to honor the life of a great professional, human being and friend. Paul Kangas was an inspiration to us all at the Nightly Business Report and at WPBT. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with great people who I am fortunate enough to be able to call friends,” Jeff Huff, COO of South Florida PBS.
