Blakeslee 
He was an American who joined the Canadian Air Force as a fighter pilot in 1940
and in 1941 went to England as a member of Britain's Royal Air Force Eagle Squadron.
In 1942, when America entered
the war, he transferred to the U.S. Air Force and stayed through the war and the
German Occupation in 1945-46. (In effect, he served three countries during WWII.)
During his U.S. Air Force career he also did tours of duty in Korea and Japan.
He retired from the Air
Force in 1965.
