Office Support Volunteers
Offers volunteers the chance to come in on a weekly basis. All office support volunteer opportunities take place on weekdays during 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., so please have availability during this time in order to apply for this position.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to speak clearly over the telephone.
- Experience with basic data entry.
- Friendly disposition and reliable.
- Bilingual skills are a plus!
On-Air Fundraising Volunteers
Volunteers answer phones and record pledges of support from generous donors as part of WPBT2’s on-air fundraising drives. Volunteering during our live fundraising drives is a great way to meet new people, experience the thrill of being on a live TV set, and support local public media. Special guests often stop by our TV set to help WPBT2 bring in the contributions. You never know what notables you might run into in our studios!
Volunteer opportunities for on-air fundraising drives are available to groups of volunteers as well as individuals, space permitting.
Responsibilities
- Attend volunteer training (during the first hour of your volunteer shift).
- Answer incoming calls from WPBT2 supporters, using a basic script.
- Enter information into a computer database.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to speak clearly over the telephone.
- Experience with basic data entry.
- Friendly disposition and reliable.
- Bilingual skills are a plus!
- Volunteer shifts typically range from four to six hours. You must be available for the entire shift in order to volunteer. Unfortunately, WPBT2 is unable to accommodate for late arrivals and/or early departures. Volunteer opportunities associated with our on-air fundraising drives always take place during evenings and/or weekends.
