Major Gifts Officer

WPBT2 seeks an experienced fundraiser to join our major gifts team to solicit annual gifts, planned gifts, gifts for special projects and gifts to the endowment. Will be responsible for identifying prospective donors and develop cultivation and solicitation plans. Must be comfortable in various socioeconomic settings with a minimum of five years experience in the area of fund development with demonstrated success in prospecting cultivation and solicitation of large gifts. Specific experience and knowledge in the areas ofmanagement, major donor funding, membership systems, annual giving programs, campaign management, corporate support programs, foundation funding and planned giving required.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and staff at all levels and ability to travel locally/regionally. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, management, fund raising, public relations or equivalent comparable work experience required.

Corporate Account Manager

Seeking self-motivated individual passionate about public television. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to cultivate and secure corporate on-air program support. Minimum 3 to 5 years media sales, marketing and/or development experience and proven track record of accomplishment. Familiarity with PBS programs and strong communication skills a must.

Freelance Producer

Excellent opportunity for detail-oriented individual to write and produce fundraising program content for various media platforms. Must be a good planner, strong organizer and be familiar with the diverse communities and cultures of South Florida. 3 years experience in TV production, scriptwriting and development reqd with knowledge of video shooting and editing.

Internship Opportunities

WPBT2 provides students with an opportunity to combine work experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. Our program serves to reinforce and strengthen the students' personal values and career objectives through an improved understanding of themselves and the work environment. We provide practical work experience to balance the students' theoretical training and allow students to meet and learn from professionals in the field and develop a network of contacts. Areas of openings include, but are not limited to: Accounting, Engineering, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Interactive Media, Marketing, Production, and Programming.

To be considered for an internship students must be enrolled in college/university in which their coursework requires internship hours. Students must also provide documentation from their school stating that they will be receiving credit for their time spent interning at WPBT2.
