Multi Media Communications & Outreach Specialist

Responsible for assisting with the organization, planning & execution of multi-media communications, public relations campaigns & station outreach events. Works with team members to market & promote WPBT2’s program services through multi media platforms including social media & other emerging opportunities. Creates content for WPBT2 blogs & social media platforms in support of events, programs & marketing strategies.

Produces station video interstitials as needed/requested. Interacts with clients, contacts, committee boards & logistic providers throughout the coordination of the events. High school graduate or equivalent. College graduate with course work in Public Relations or Journalism preferred. Minimum one to two years’ experience in public relations & event coordination. Ability to write concisely & creatively. Computer literate with experience using social media platforms.

Regional Executive, New Business Development

WPBT2 seeks innovative individual to lead efforts to identify, develop and sign partnerships that drive new business revenue and business opportunities in support of WPBT2 and its mission.

Works collaboratively & strategically with President & CEO, executive staff and other fundraising professionals to identify, recruit, nurture and close large strategic partnership opportunities/revenue projects; creates and executes business plans to ensure strategic partnerships support the overall business goals of WPBT2; generates new forms of revenue which relate directly or indirectly to existing facilities and services, and devises marketing plans and materials to attract partners/clients. Negotiates complex transactions, including inbound & outbound licensing agreements, technology integration & development agreements, and sponsorship agreements. Coordinates strategic initiatives with select partners.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six to 8 years experience and demonstrated experience in developing strategic partnerships with a focus on business development. Proven experience in prospecting, building and closing strategic partnerships. Demonstrated success in account management, communications and/or marketing.

Corporate Account Manager

Seeking self-motivated individual passionate about public television. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to cultivate and secure corporate on-air program support. Minimum 3 to 5 years media sales, marketing and/or development experience and proven track record of accomplishment. Familiarity with PBS programs and strong communication skills a must.

Freelance Production Opportunities

Freelance Producers, Associate Producers, and Production Assistants needed for various WPBT2 productions, including public affairs, educational, arts and science programming. Seeking candidates with experience in studio and/or field productions. Successful candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and knowledge of social media platforms. Must be reliable, organized, and self-motivated. Internship Opportunities

WPBT2 provides students with an opportunity to combine work experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. Our program serves to reinforce and strengthen the students' personal values and career objectives through an improved understanding of themselves and the work environment. We provide practical work experience to balance the students' theoretical training and allow students to meet and learn from professionals in the field and develop a network of contacts. Areas of openings include, but are not limited to: Accounting, Engineering, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Interactive Media, Marketing, Production, and Programming.

To be considered for an internship students must be enrolled in college/university in which their coursework requires internship hours. Students must also provide documentation from their school stating that they will be receiving credit for their time spent interning at WPBT2.
