Multimedia Editor/Producer

South Florida PBS is looking for a Multimedia Editor/Producer, who is a self-starter, passionate about storytelling, enjoys opportunities to be creative and can proficiently and efficiently execute their ideas. The Multimedia Editor/Producer is responsible for developing multiplatform South Florida PBS content and maintaining editorial continuity with the organization’s strategic goals. Working collaboratively with SFPBS production and interactive staff, responsible for researching, organizing, producing, and editing a wide variety of content tailored for broadcast and digital platforms, while developing new processes and best practices for the efficient production of multiplatform content.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with digital distribution efforts, organizing project media files, assembling rough cuts, and producing promos/sizzle reels for SFPBS original content.

The right candidate must have a minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience in video production and publishing, including editing and producing. Social media strategy and engagement, content promotion. Experience with multiple broadcast, digital, and emerging media technologies. Must be proficient in Adobe Suite products, Microsoft Office programs and other basic development applications. An understanding of the online video ecosystem, including social media applications and YouTube publishing and analytics.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills, with a strong focus on details, ability to multitask, clearly communicate with team members and supervisors, and follow through. Understanding of and adherence to journalism and PBS ethics standards required. Must be able to work during non-business hours as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company van as needed for events across South Florida.

This is a full-time position based in South Florida. Staff is primarily working from home but must be available during regular business hours to participate in-person for meetings and production activities.

Freelance Digital Media Assistant

Are you a highly motivated and creative college graduate looking for an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in digital media?  South Florida PBS is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Freelance Digital Media Assistant.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage and maintain South Florida PBS social media pages, create engaging content and assist with various digital media projects.  If you have a passion for social media management and video production, this is the perfect role for you! 

This team member will:

  • Assist with the management of social media pages, including daily posting, scheduling and audience engagement.

  • Shoot/Edit digital social content for original SFPBS productions, ensuring high quality visuals and compelling storytelling, creating shot lists and organizing necessary resources.

  • Maintain effective communication with supervisor, as well as with multiple producers, project managers and departments, ensuring smooth coordination and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Provide support on other digital media projects as needed, showcasing your flexibility and adaptability.

 

The candidate must possess a strong knowledge and experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.  They should exhibit proficiency in social media content creation and management. Familiarity with the latest social media trends and technology will ensure up-to-date strategies and approaches.  An understanding of video production processes preferred, from pre-production planning to shooting, editing and post-production.  The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Flexibility and adaptability to be able to work on multiple projects with various producers/departments a must.   This position requires a detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of digital media tasks. 

This is a remote full-time freelance position, with occasional work in our South Florida PBS Boynton Beach studios.

Assistant Studio Director/ Field Videographer

South Florida PBS is seeking to add to its team of talented, high energy production personnel. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for television production to fill a hybrid studio/field production position. The ideal candidate would have at least two years of experience as a camera operator or stage manager and would possess a mix of both creative and technical skills.  The team member will be a key component of the South Florida PBS content team, working closely with program producers to help create a vision for the final program, and will capture excellent video and audio content to support that vision. 

This team member would serve part-time as an Assistant Director in the South Florida PBS Boynton Beach studios and part-time as a Field Videographer, assisting with the production of a variety of programs for public television platforms on a project-basis. The right candidate is flexible and works independently in a fast-paced environment and is a detail-oriented team player and demonstrated self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments. Ability to adhere to tight deadlines is a must.

As an Assistant Director, they will support the videotaping of live studio or remote productions, working alongside SFPBS Studio and Engineering Staff, Talent and Clients.  The Assistant Director will help develop and prepare program materials for local and national distribution in conjunction with the assigned producer and director, Coordinating the selection of visuals, special effects, music and other important aspects of the particular production assigned; Researching and categorizing graphic data files; while learning to direct live and taped shows.  This team member may also serve as camera operator, stage manager, lighting assist or teleprompter operator and participate in overall studio operations as needed.

As a Field Videographer, this team member will support a variety of field productions, from Check, Please! to Art Loft; from On the Town in The Palm Beaches to KidVision to short-form digital productions. This visual storyteller is adaptable to a variety of shooting styles and formats.  Editing experience and proficiency with Premiere Pro a plus.  The ideal candidate is creative and passionate about their craft, efficiently executing big ideas, and is always willing to learn. 

The candidate must be proficient with DSLR video cameras and accessories, as well as a variety of audio and lighting equipment.  Must also be computer literate, familiar with a variety of software; possess the ability to multitask and clearly communicate with team members and supervisors; and available to work outside normal business hours when required.  Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company van as needed for events across South Florida.

This is a full-time freelance position which will be based in the South Florida PBS Boynton Beach studios approx. 2-3 days per week.

COMMUNICATIONS/MARKETING

Producer, KidVision Pre-K (Full-Time/Freelance)

KidVision Pre-K is South Florida PBS’ education platform which provides preschool teachers online training and tools needed to teach developmental learning goals so children will be prepared for kindergarten based on national criteria. KidVision Pre-K provides support to teachers, families, and children through the production of unique educational content, such as virtual field trips, broadcast interstitials, and a children’s TV Show called, KidVision Mission.

The right candidate is flexible, works independently and is a detail-oriented team player and demonstrated self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments. Excellent computer/internet skills are required, as this position is responsible for maintaining the KidVision PreK website and related online materials. As well as producing online content and broadcast content. Interest in and basic knowledge of the preschool education sector is perfered. One to two years of experience writing scripts, editing, and creating video content. Ability to navigate and employ virtual meeting and event platforms as tools for community engagement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The producer is responsible for scheduling shoots, providing rundowns and scripts to all involved, and ensuring production stays on schedule, while providing clear direction in the field so that all content is captured according to the vision. Must have working knowledge of Premiere Pro for rough cutting productions. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills, with a strong focus on details, and strong ability to multitask. Ability to clearly communicate with parents, partners, team members and supervisors a must. Ability to work during non-business hours as needed. Valid driver’s license required and must be able to drive company van as needed. This is a 40 hour a week position based in South Florida.

FINANCE/ACCOUNTING

Senior Staff Accountant

South Florida PBS is looking for an individual to provide support to the Accounting Department by managing daily accounting tasks, primarily related to accounts receivable, payroll, and the monthly closing process for all SFPBS operations.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance and the CFO, the Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily review and posting of cash receipts and disbursements for all entities. Review and post membership batches and development batches in the financial system daily. Assist with monthly close procedures, prepare journal entries, and update financial schedules. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for review. Maintain Project IDs and prepare Project ID financial reports for distribution to management weekly.

Prepare Production Revenue Report weekly. Calculate commissions and accruals monthly. Prepare sales tax and make payment online monthly. Review and post accounts payable and accounts receivable for all entities weekly. Prepare payroll journal entries bi-weekly. Provides back-up for data entry of accounts receivable and payroll processing.

BS/BA in Accounting or relevant field preferred. Five years plus, proven experience as a staff accountant. Payroll processing experience with ADP a plus. Strict confidentiality with sensitive financial data. Experience working effectively with senior/executive management teams.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. Financial Edge and/or Raiser’s Edge a plus.

DEVELOPMENT

Major Gifts Officer - North

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Full-time position, directly responsible for devising and managing comprehensive and effective strategies for the acquisition of major and planned gifts from capable and qualified current and potential donors including working to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors, prospects and family foundations. This includes devising effective strategic planning and face to face meetings to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support to fuel SFPBS’ mission and strategic plans. Manages a fluid portfolio of 125 to 150 current and potential major donors and prospects with a primary focus on Broward, Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

College graduate with emphasis on non-profit business management including major gifts fund raising, public relations, or equivalent comparable work experience. Candidates with a CFRE are preferred. Excellent writing skills are essential. Minimum of five to seven years of proven success in building strong, effective philanthropic relationships-including prospect identification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Specific experience and knowledge with emphasize on a successful track record in the areas of non-profit management; major gifts; planned giving; annual giving programs; capital campaign management; foundation funding; and event planning and coordination.

Experience with Raiser’s Edge/RENXT is preferable.

Producer, On-Air Fundraising

South Florida PBS is looking for an organized and driven individual to coordinate and execute all production for quarterly live television fundraising campaigns and ongoing promotional interstitials and initiatives throughout the year. This includes writing scripts and editing footage as needed, coordinating hosts for live appeals, conducting research and making all studio and travel arrangements necessary. Helps conceptualize and executes ancillary fundraising productions/campaigns to generate increased viewership and revenue. Assists in the development and execution of special events. Works with supervisor to determine and maintain budgets.

College degree with major coursework in field of mass communications, journalism, the arts or equivalent experience. Three to five years experience as a television producer or associate producer. Working knowledge of linear and non-linear video editing and computer skills. Script writing experience a must. Knowledge of production within a fundraising environment a plus. Must be a multitasker.

Customer Services Representative (Freelance/PT)

Excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Responsible for assisting with support activities in the Member Services Department. Will assist in providing high quality member service support via telephone, e-mail, mail and in person. Will work independently and as part of a team to resolve a diverse set of issues for viewers and members. Manages members account regarding inquiries, billing issues, premiums, data entry and more. Assist with and may be required to attend on-air pledge drives, concerts and special events designed to cultivate and strengthen relationship with members and viewers. During campaigns will supervise and train volunteers as needed. Assists in the maintenance and accuracy of all entries into all associated databases as well as the online donation website.

Ideal candidate will be a high school graduate with one year of customer service experience. Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must! Good oral and written communication and people skills with a keen ability to relate well with others is essential to this position. This position requires a flexible schedule; will work occasional nights and weekends. Must have good comprehensive and documentation skills, strong time management skills and must maintain excellent attendance.
