PASSPORT FAQS

WHAT IS PBS PASSPORT?

PBS Passport is one of the benefits you receive when you support South Florida PBS. With Passport, you can stream many of your favorite PBS programs – full seasons of Masterpiece as well as many episodes of NOVA, Nature, American Experience, American Masters, GreatPerformances, Antiques Roadshow, Independent Lens and more. The Passport library is always growing, so check back frequently to see what's new.

IS THERE A MINIMUM DONATION FOR PBS PASSPORT?

PBS Passport is a benefit for all South Florida PBS members who donate at least $5/month as an ongoing Sustainer or have made a $60 contribution in the past year.

IS MY DONATION TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?

Yes. South Florida PBS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation is tax-deductible. PBS Passport is a member benefit and not available for purchase, so there is no fair market value.

PROGRAMMING AND CONTENT

I CAN’T STREAM MY FAVORITE SHOW WITH PBS PASSPORT. WHY NOT?

We would love to be able to offer every single program. However, streaming rights must be negotiated separately for each program, and for financial or contractual reasons, we can’t always secure those rights. But we’re doing our best and adding new programs all the time.

PRIVACY

WHY IS PBS ASKING FOR MY VIEWING DATA IN ORDER TO USE PASSPORT?

In order to provide Passport to our members, it’s necessary for PBS and South Florida PBS to pass viewing history data to each other and to certain service providers (e.g. our member database host.) This viewing data may be used to help us better understand viewing habits and to customize and improve your experience. It will not be sold or otherwise made public.

We are required by law to get your consent to share your viewing history data with these parties in accordance with the Video Privacy Protection Act. Your consent lets us work with PBS and our vendors to provide the PBS Passport service to you. Be assured that we take our members’ privacy very seriously. You can view our complete Privacy Policy here.
